Despite all the hard work we put into clothing, hair, and accessories, your complexion will always make the strongest impression. I’ve recently become more interested in finding better ways to treat my skin using products that make sense for my skin type and daily routine.

With the ever changing weather, I am more aware of how my skin feels and how its reacting to the fluctuations between cold and hot days. I battle dry skin and psoriasis that flares up with the change of the seasons, so finding a good moisturizer and cleansing routine is important for the health of my skin. My skin is also a victim of stress breakouts, so making sure I’m drinking enough water and getting ample exercise is crucial. I can’t emphasize enough how powerful water intake is for the complexion. But, finding the right products for your skin type is what will make all the difference.

Enter Burke Williams (BW), the world-class west coast urban day spa, and my favorite place to relax and destress. BW has an exclusive skin care line called H2V, of which some products I’ve been using for several months now. I even turned my mom onto it and her skin actually looks better than mine! My favorite product in the line (so far) is Buff, a exfoliating clay used to remove dead skin and restore shine. I’ve been using this for a few months and the results really show. You can read more about my experience with Buff in a recent blog post I wrote here. I love the H2V skincare line and have recently become obsessed with all things Burke Williams.

MY CURRENT FALL SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Because I have dry skin and psoriasis, I have to be discerning about what I use on my body. Following a routine that makes sense for your skin type and what works best for you will have to come with some trial and error. Here is what I’m currently doing to keep my skin looking and feeling its best.

  1. Up Water Intake. I’m drinking more water than I like, but its really helping keep breakouts at bay.
  2. Exfoliate.ย I religiously use Buff from the Burke Williams H2V skincare line. Doing this twice a week has really helped clear my pores. My makeup sits better on my face when I’m doing this regularly.
  3. Moisturize.ย I slather on lotion like no one’s business! My go-to brand for years now is Nivea Essentially Enriched for hands, feet, and body. For my face, I use Aveeno Daily Moisturizer and Vitamin E oil depending on how I’m wearing my makeup that day. I’ll do another blog post about Vitamin E oil… it’s seriously changed my skin and makeup life!

SKIN CARE PRODUCTS TO TRY NOW

As I continue to expand and explore my skin care routine, I recently discovered another product from Burke Williams called Beyond. Beyond is a hydrating pumpkin mask that uses pumpkin enzymes to gently remove dead skin cells. It incorporates ginseng to help tighten the skin – which I literally felt after the first use! After exfoliating my skin, I lathered on a thin layer of the Beyond mask. You start to feel it working right away. I left it on for 10 minutes then rinsed with water. I followed up by sweeping a generous portion of the Burke Williams Triple C, a serum packed full of Vitamin C. Triple C helps to stimulate collagen, firm skin, and lighten dark spots. ย This stuff is amazing – I felt the tightening right away! I love how my skin feels after using these products, fresh and clean, with a noticeable difference in the appearance of my complexion after just a short while.
